Free Ugly!

Scott Westerfeld has announced on his website that Uglies (first book in the Uglies/Pretties/Specials trilogy) will be available for free download until Sept 6th. Yay for FREE books! I'm planning on choosing Uglies for my book club selection (whenever it's my turn), so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get the book for FREE without having to wait for holds at the library. Just don't read it yet.

After you download the book you can save it as a pdf file. You can read it as a straight pdf file on your computer if you want to. I recommend downloading Stanza. It's a neat desktop program that makes it easy to read e-Books on your computer. (there's also an iPod/iTouch app for it if you're interested.) Stanza also makes it easy to export eBooks onto a Kindle/Sony eReader.

I stare at a computer 8 hours every day of my life. There is no way I'm gonna stare a little longer to read a book! I'm pretty sure I will be A) printing off a copy for myself, on my work printer, obviously B) borrowing your Kindle (spelling) or C) Purchasing said "Uglies" cuz I will never finish it if I wait for the Library to have a copy. Mostly cuz I will never go to the library.

I don't have to "download" said Ugly for it to be free...if you catch my drift...
